Winter in the Skagit Valley

Even in the winter, there are tons of off-road adventures to experience. In late Fall, the North Cascades transform into a Winter Wonderland! Mountain peaks, alpine meadows, and forests become dusted in white by the first snowstorms of the approaching winter. This is the time to get the snowshoes out of hibernation. Come winter, the North Cascades are ready and covered with loads of snow, providing expansive areas to explore.

Mountain weather is notorious for changing quickly, from a bright sunny day to a windy whiteout. Always bring warm layers, gloves, a hat, full rain gear, and plenty of hardy snacks and water in your backpack. Sunglasses are also a good idea!
