Fresh Produce and Local Experiences
Skagit County Farms
Skagit County maintains one of the largest and most diverse agricultural communities west of the Cascade mountain range. Agriculture is one of the top industries in Skagit County. Local farmers produce about $340 million of crops, livestock, and dairy products on 67,000 acres of land. You’ll notice a lot of farmland while driving around the valley. Shop a local farm stand, visit a u-pick farm, or stop by a farmers’ market. Skagit County farms are a huge part of our culture and economy; we encourage you to visit one (at least!) during your visit.

Agri-Tourism Experiences
Agri-tourism offers visitors a unique way to experience rural life while supporting local farms. Immersive activities provide opportunities to engage with farming culture, enjoy fresh food, and explore the countryside’s natural beauty. If you’re looking for an escape from city life, consider staying on a farm where you’ll wake up to scenic views and farm-fresh breakfasts. Or maybe you want to visit a festival to celebrate the season’s harvest and participate in activities like cider pressing, tractor rides, and corn mazes. Some Skagit County farms offer guided tours to show you behind the scenes into the daily operations of working farms. Whatever you choose, we thank you for supporting local farmers and small businesses.
U-Pick Farms
There is nothing like changing your perspective over a couple of hours picking berries in Skagit Valley! A certain kind of peace, a calming of the spirit, and a connection to the earth is just the beginning. U-pick farms offer a fun, unique way to experience what it’s like to work on a local farm. Go on a guided tour, watch farming demonstrations, and learn how to harvest and preserve produce. Skagit County farms produce a variety of crops – check below for the ones that offer u-pick experiences and the crops you can expect to harvest. Don’t forget to wear appropriate clothing and bring sunscreen and water!
