On the north side of Skagit County, nestled at the foothills of Blanchard Mountain and just off of scenic Chuckanut Drive, is the small town of Bow and nearby neighbor, Edison. While Bow and Edison are technically two different towns, locals often consider the Bow-Edison, Washington area to be one. Experience the small town flavor in Edison with unique shops, art galleries, and several hidden gem eateries (where you’ll certainly meet some friendly locals!) followed by a scenic drive around Bow, taking in the views and discovering a few unique treasures of the Valley.

A Throwback to History in Edison

Edison, Washington sits in the heart of a rich agricultural area and is one of many communities that thrived through the first half of the century. It has since melded into a beloved dine and sip destination, with several farm-to-table dining options and well-known watering holes frequently filled with locals.

As you explore this area, keep an eye out for vestiges of bygone eras, which are visible in the architecture, old pilings, dikes, and barns. Edison is situated in the beautiful Samish Delta and enjoys views of Mt. Baker, Samish Bay, and the San Juan Islands and is often a stop for those on motorcycles, long bicycle trips, or scenic drives.

Enjoy the Journey Around Bow

Situated on Padilla Bay, Bay View sits on the west side of Bow, boasting a beautiful view, a quiet rural atmosphere. Bay View is home to Bay View State Park, the Breazeale Interpretive Center, and the Padilla Bay Shore Trail. Take time for a picnic at Bay View State Park, a 25-acre camping park with 1,285 feet of saltwater shoreline on Padilla Bay. Bird watching, beachcombing, clamming, crabbing, and much more are popular activities at the park.

As you travel these back roads enjoying the views, you’ll have opportunities to visit farms selling local artisan cheeses, apples, berries, other fresh produce, oysters, crab, and other shellfish.
